CELINA CHAPIN // CHOREOGRAPHER // ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Celina is an award winning choreographer and actor based in Los Angeles. She studied at University of North Carolina School of the Arts and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with degrees in Performance Studies and Political Science. She co-founded Gale Physical Theatre Company based in Austin, TX, for whom she choreographed several well received pieces that have been staged throughout the southeastern United States. Her pieces were awarded, "best non-traditional works," in Austin, Houston, and Dallas both years she was working in Austin by the Central Texas Theater awards, and the theatre piece she choreographed, "WK," was reviewed as,  "one of the most astonishing and innovative works to come along in Austin in quite a while (Jeff Davis, Broadway World)." She has also choreographed for Conspire and Mouth Radio in Austin, Studio Alta in Prague, and American Dance Festival. She has had the delight of training and working with Double Edge Theatre, SITI Co., Bill. T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Co., and the many powerful companies that visit American Dance Festival.

SABINA VALERY // CHOREOGRAPHER // DANCER

Sabina is a graduate of the school of dance at Florida State University, where she studied under Dan Wagoner, Gerri Houlihan, Jawole Zollar, Suzanne Farrell, Tom Welsh and Loren Davison. She was deeply involved in choreography and performance for modern, contemporary, and hip hop at FSU. She has performed in many dance productions on stage and screen, including an original piece for the American College Dance Association on a national level. The piece was choreographed by Du'Bois A'Keen, who is currently a member of Urban Bush Women. She also had the opportunity to be a part of a piece that went on to become the award winning documentary, "Two-Point Stance,” choreographed by Kelsey Grills. JING NIU // FILM DIRECTOR

Jing Niu is an artist and filmmaker who makes work about traveling women and diasporic wanderings. Her work exists in many different mediums, and she’s had the honor of exhibiting work at the Nasher Art Museum, the National Humanities Center and the San Francisco Cinematheque. She earned her MFA in Documentary and Experimental Arts from Duke University. Currently based in Los Angeles, she spends her time making narrative-documentary films while simultaneously dismantling the model-minority myth by creating strong and independent female Asian protagonists.
